Conservation Framing

For the next generation to come.

We employ materials that have been proven to protect and maintain art in as close to its original condition as possible:

UV Protection Glazing

We stock and use a range of UV Protection Glazing from Evonik, Tru Vue Inc and Groglass.

Plexiglas from Evonik (Gallery® Plexiglas) offers 99.7% UV Protection (3mm material thickness) and Tru Vue range of Musuem Glass and Optimum Museum Acrylic. The Artglass range by Groglass offers a wide selection of anti-reflective glass that offers different level of UV protection for different needs. (Learn more about our glazing options here.)

Ultraviolet light rays not only cause colours to fade but also start to destroy the materials right in the frame. Conservation Quality picture framing glazing is specially formulated to protect framed works of art from the damaging effects of ultraviolet light.

100% Cotton Rag Mat Boards

We use only Museum Grade 100% Rag Matboards made from 100% rag cotton — the ultimate quality and most desirable for conservation.

Professional Mat Cutting

We use the Matt Pro CMC, a computerised mat cutter which is capable of doing all cutting from the front and the back, to cut single, multiple openings and V-grooves in all designs, and pre-assemble double and triple mats without having to remove the mat from the machine.

Proper Hinging

We adhere to proper conservation techniques for mounting (sometimes called “hinging”) and sealing your artwork. Materials used in hinging (e.g. adhesive, hinging paper) are of archival grade and are reversible.

Shadowbox Framing

We are also able to frame your 3D object (be it your valued wayang kulit, jersey shirt, pouch, we can frame almost anything!) with the above mentioned museum standard to maintain the protection level at the same time enhance the aesthetic of your artwork to bring the best out of it.
